Coverage varies by individual plan

Insurance & payment

Greenwood Counseling accepts private-pay clients and participates with selected insurance networks. Benefits and network status are verified at the member level because coverage can differ even within the same insurance company.

Current insurance participation

Commercial insurance

Cigna / Evernorth

Greenwood Counseling currently participates with Cigna/Evernorth. Individual eligibility, behavioral-health benefits, copay, deductible, authorization requirements, and telehealth coverage should still be verified for each member.

Commercial insurance

UnitedHealthcare / Optum

Greenwood Counseling participates with selected UnitedHealthcare/Optum plans. Because UHC/Optum offers multiple products and networks, participation should be confirmed for the specific member and plan before relying on an estimated client responsibility.

Additional network relationships may be added to this page as they become active. A payer name alone does not guarantee that every product, employer plan, exchange plan, or behavioral-health carve-out is in network.

What benefits verification means

Before the first appointment, Greenwood may verify whether coverage is active, whether the clinician and practice are treated as in network for the member’s plan, and what the plan reports for behavioral-health benefits. Verification may include copay, coinsurance, deductible status, authorization requirements, visit limits, telehealth coverage, and the appropriate claims destination.

Insurance information is an estimate of benefits rather than a guarantee of payment. The insurance company ultimately determines how a claim is processed after it is submitted.

Private pay

Private-pay appointments are available for clients who prefer not to use insurance, do not have an applicable in-network benefit, or want to discuss whether private payment makes sense for their situation. Current private-pay availability can be discussed before scheduling.

Greenwood does not publish session fees on this public website. Questions about current private-pay arrangements can be directed to the practice.
